7:17 I will thank the Lord for ¹  his justice;

Mazmur 129:8

129:8 Those who pass by will not say, ⁶ 

“May you experience the Lord’s blessing!

We pronounce a blessing on you in the name of the Lord.”

[7:17]  ¹ tn Heb “according to.”

[7:17]  ² tn Heb “[to] the name of the Lord Most High.” God’s “name” refers metonymically to his divine characteristics as suggested by his name, in this case the compound “Lord Most High.” The divine title “Most High” (עֶלְיוֹן, ’elyon) pictures God as the exalted ruler of the universe who vindicates the innocent and judges the wicked. See especially Ps 47:2.

[89:8]  ³ tn Traditionally “God of hosts.” The title here pictures the Lord as enthroned in the midst of the angelic hosts of heaven.

[103:22]  ⁴ tn Heb “all his works,” which includes mankind.

[103:22]  ⁵ tn Heb “places.”

[129:8]  ⁶ tn The perfect verbal form is used for rhetorical effect; it describes an anticipated development as if it were already reality.
